Nuva Ring Commercial

This commercial grabs my attention because of the music and color. It definitely informs me about the advantages of using this product and the medical concerns you may have. It stays in my mind because it repeats the same thing over and over. It is a catchy tune so you may end up singing it after the commercial. All the girls are wearing yellow so I think it is giving off happiness, optimism and idealism. Saying that you will be happier if you use this product and it is the way to go to make life easier.
Some of the gimmicks they use are sex appeal because the girls are all beautiful and wearing bathing suits. The commercial is making the girls look like they are living the "good life" because they have the nice pool and everything. Another is snob appeal because they are making it look like if you use this product you will live the good life and have lots of friends.
This commercial has weasel in it because it was saying that it is better than birth control because you only have to take it once. there is definitely repetition because it repeats "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday everyday!"

Episode 7

In this episode, Grace's mom made invitations for Adrian's shower, but Amy and Grace don't know who to invite. So Adrian decides she's going to invite all her enemies. Which is everyone who had sex with Ricky, to show them how great her life is without him. She calls out in the hallway everyone who has had sex with Ricky to give them the invitations. Amy starts to cry because she didn't like having to see all the girls Ricky had been with all at once. So after Adrian did that, Amy did not want to throw her a shower anymore. Well then Adrian got upset because she felt like Amy was pointing out to her that she didn't have any friends by making her come up with her own guest list.

Of course Ben trying to be the knight in shining armor, he tries to protect Adrian by talking to Amy but Ricky stops him and tells him it's a girl fight so they shouldn't get involved. Ben didn't listen to Ricky and goes over to Amy's house and put her down hard. George walked into it and kicked him out. So of course George goes over and talks to Leo about it to make Ben apologize. Then Amy and Ashley fought, and so did Ricky and Adrian. It's just become this big war between the whole town it seems! Ricky is the only mature one in all of this I find. That was definitely a jerk move for Adrian to do that to Amy. I was not impressed at all that she did that!

Episode 6

Adrian and Grace went shopping for wedding dresses. Grace is a little unsure about the whole thing... especially about if the dress is going to fit. Adrian then tells Grace that her and Ben had sex again and she loved it. She loved it so much that she told the salesperson about it too! Later on, she goes over to Amy's just to tell her how good her sex was with Ben along with thanking her for helping throw a wedding shower.

Throughout this, Amy is still having concerns about moving in with Ricky; but he is definitely ready now. So ready that he rushes over to talk to her about it and runs into Ashley's study buddy, Toby's, stepsister, Karlee. He realizes that she is an old sex buddy!

When they leave, Amy states that when she says "No" to sex, she means no. this doesn't mean that she is going to say no every time but she wants him to know that she's not going to have sex with him whenever he wants. Ricky gets frustrated and impatient so he storms out. Karlee ends up stopping by his place that for sex but surprisingly Ricky doesn't answer the door! He goes out and plays golf with Amy instead.

I think Amy and Adrian need to stop comparing their relationships and get over themselves. Ricky needs to get more patient and know that their relationship isn't all about sex. I think he's finally starting realize what a real relationship really is about.

Episode 5

Ricky is still trying to decide what to say to Amy. He's not ready to deal with this yet. He wants Amy to go to college while he works at the butcher shop and look after John. Adrian knows him well enough, and why he's being hesitant so she tells Amy to use reverse psychology so he'll ask her to move in with him. Amy is nice enough to give advice to Adrian on how to get Ben to buy the condo she wants.
Adrian also tells Ben that he will be able to go back to his house even though he's moving out.

Grace and Grant have sex and they loved it. They are glad they waited because they are so much closer now than they were. They both tell each other they love each other.

George gets Ashley a study buddy named Toby to work with. It seems like they might get along! George decides he needs to get some friends so he takes Ricky's mom, Nora out on a date. Of course he doesn't know that Nora is a lesbian and they end up meeting her partner at the restaurant with Ruben. When he calls Anne she tells him Amy doesn't want to marry Ricky she just wants to move in with him. She had to calm George down after he heard that telling him that it's time for the mother and father to start a life of their own.

Episode 4

This episode was pretty interesting.

Amy was ranting on to her mom and sister how she doesn't like that Ben and Adrian are getting married. George is starting to feel lonely without Anne around the house so he stops by to check on Ricky and meets Nora. He definitely thinks she is good looking and says maybe they will be parents in law someday. Ricky was not liking where that was going.

Later on, Ricky was trying to convince Ben not to marry Adrian so he didn't have to marry Amy. Adrian is getting very excited about the huge wedding she's planning, although Ben is getting VERY nervous. He tells her instead of having a huge wedding, to buy a condo of their own. Adrian loves that idea, so forgets about the huge wedding.

Lauren finds out her mom and step- dad are splitting up and that her real dad and mom might be getting back together.

Amy wants to move forward in her relationship with Ricky so she goes to his apartment and tells him she wants to have sex with him right now. She didn't know her dad was still in the apartment.. After he left she felt humiliated but she still asked Ricky to marry her. We will see what he says on the next episode!

Episode 3

Margaret, Ricky's foster mom lays down the ground rules for Nora. No men OR women in her bedroom. Margaret somehow heard Nora is a lesbian. Amy finally convinces Ricky to talk to his mother and let her meet John. While there, Nora tells Ricky she does have a girlfriend who is a public defender. She is very happy.
Ashley isn't doing home school, she's just sitting around at home. She wanted to go see her mom so she could help her with her biology project but Amy wasn't going there this weekend. George wants her to go back to public school but doesn't know how to get her to do that because she wants to have a normal family instead of everyone have babies.
Ruben finally convinces Cindy, his wife to agree to let Ben ask Adrian to marry him. Ben does pop the question at his favorite taco place and Adrian says yes!

Adrian Lee played by Francia Raisa

Adrian was the bad girl of the school and used to do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted. Her mom is a flight attendant so she is barely home although she still manages to get good grades.
Now her parents are finally married and her father, Ruben is trying to make up for missing all those years. Now that she is pregnant after that one night with Ben she is trying to grow up and become responsible. She wants a big happy family and she wants it with Ben.

Ben Boykewich played by Ken Baumann

Ben has grown up since the first season. He's had an Italian girlfriend, he's somewhat dated Grace and had sex with Adrian! Which may be the biggest mistake of his life. He works in his dad, Leo's butcher shop which led him to be friends with Ricky. He now has a new step mom, Betty but he's now having a lot more tension with his dad.

Ricky Underwood played by Daren Kagasoff

Ricky has been a responsible dad to baby John. He's now moved into his own place and has a job so he can help with John financially. He did run away for a little while, which scared everyone but he was look for his mom to talk to her about his childhood. He was definitely not happy to hear what happened with Ben and Adrian so things aren't going good with him and Adrian. But that only happened because he 'practiced' kissing with Amy. Now that him and Amy are sharing custody of John they seem to be very friendly.. Time will tell what will happen next!

Amy Juergens played by Shailene Woodley

Now that Amy is a teenager mother she definitely has a complicated life! At least she's not the only one with new baby in the house now that Anne had Robie. The whole family is under the same roof again, with Ashley in the redone garage. Amy is trying to date again. She had a long distance relationship with Jimmy and then her and Ricky got friendly again that they actually kissed! Just for practice though. Ben confessed he will always love her even though he slept with Adrian just to get back at her. Through this all, Amy can still count on her friends and family to help her through the tough times.

Episode 2

Ricky wants a custody agreement that he can't live with his mother, Nora but the mediator says that sometimes even our parents need parents. He asks his foster parents to take her in because he's not quite ready to be a parent of his own mother. During this, Amy meets Nora for the first time- and notices they look quite similar.
Grant wants Grace to get tested before they take the next step in their relationship because Grace was with Jack who was with Adrian who had sex with Ricky etc.. She disagreed at first but when Grant tells her he loves her she agrees.
Lauren is heartbroken that her boyfriend Jesse broke up with her because he's going of to college soon. Madison is now with an "older man" who works at the mall with her. Her father now wants her back with Jack because this guy is too old. Ashley is still sticking with her decision of being home schooled.
Ben asked Adrian to live with him but she said no so now he wants to marry him. He asks his father but he said he should wait till he doesn't have to ask his own father if he can marry someone.

Season 6

In the first episode of season 6 Ben and Adrian find out they are having a baby girl. Ben is now thinking about asking Adrian to marry him. Amy finally agrees to have sex again- with Ricky. But she wants him to get tested first so he goes around asking previous girls he's been with if he should be worried and they say yes. He's terrified about what he might have so he goes to get tested. He ends up meeting his foster mom there and she is nothing but supportive of him. When he gets home he finds his birth mom at his door having been let out of prison. She asks to live with him and promises it's only temporary.
Ashely now wants to be home schooled because she doesn't want to be around gossipy people anymore. Lauren and Jesse break up, Madison met a new older man and now Grace and Grant think they're ready to have sex.

Madison Cooperstein played by Renee Olstead Madison, Lauren and Amy used to be the best of friends but boys, gossip and Amy's pregnancy changed that. Madison spilled Amy's secret to the whole and also competed with Lauren for Ricky. Now she's dating Jack, but it's not going to good. She doesn't like that he still talks to Grace. Even though Madison is always involved with drama she still manages to stay best friends with Lauren. She is still trying to regain Amy's trust though because nobody likes a best friend who can't keep a secret.

Jack Pappas played by Greg Finley Jack is the star of the football team, a devoted Christian and super-serious about athletics. He cheated on Grace with Adrian and then later, Madison. Now he's dating Madison because he thought it would be easier than dating Grace but Madison is quite the handful with lots of ideas. One idea is he can't talk to Grace anymore but he keeps breaking that rule. Jack is also always on the move.

Grace Bowman played by Megan Park Grace is the former cheerleader every guy wants but none can have. She is a Type-A perfectionist in anything she does. After she lost her dad in a plane accident she blamed herself for it happening because she had sex with her boyfriend Jack. Now she's gotten rid of Jack and decided to date Ben even though Adrian hooked up with him one night. Meanwhile, Grace is having issues with her mom, Kathleen, because she just remarried less than a year after losing her husband.

Tom Bowman played by Luke Zimmerman
Tom is Grace's older brother and has Down Syndrome. He considers himself the man of the house ever since his dad died so he's very protective over his mom and sister. He's good at figuring out people, can hold a grudge sometimes and can be hotheaded. He's not to sure how to deal with his new step dad, Jeff. Tammy and him are broken up so we're not sure what's going on with them anymore and his mom is having a hard time when to give advice.

Kathleen Bowman played by Josie Bisset
Kathleen has taught her kids Tom and Grace to be good and devout Christians. Last year she lost her husband to a plane crash. Less than a year later she got married again to a younger man named Jeff. Her kids think she should have waited longer but she is happy so they have to deal with it.

Ashley Juergens played by India Eisley
Ashley is Amy's younger sister and isn't afraid to call her out on her mistakes. She is smart, funny with a rebellious sense of style and dry wit. She usually sides with George when the family is split apart. Now that she goes to the same school as Ashely we are seeing how she deals with her friends. She is dating Grant, her best friend, Griffin's cousin. He is trying to push Ashley for more action so what will Ashley do? Her close connection with Ricky is also under examination.

George Juergens played by Mark Derwin
George is always trying to do what's best for his family even, though he's made some bad decisions. He broke off an affair with Cindy to save his marriage, and worked his way back into her heart when Anne found another guy and became pregnant with a baby he thought was his. He's been moving in and out to keep his family together. He's a loving dad to both his daughters. He really wants to remarry Anne and he's doing everything he can to make that happen.

Characters

Anne Juergens played by Molly Ringwold

Anne has had an interesting year! Her husband George cheated on her, she cheated on him, their older daughter Amy had a baby, and then George moved out, taking their younger daughter Ashley with him. She started working at a hot dog stand, where she met David , an architect, who offered her first a job and then a date. She then got pregnant so David proposed, but George drove him away. After George and Ashley moved back in, Anne gave birth to Robie. Then she went to stay with her mom, and met up with an old ex which made George jealous. Now they're living together again, still divorced but George is trying to get married again. Through it all, Anne's remained a loving, caring mother to her girls. Anne is always there to set Amy and Ashley straight.
